Registration Statuses

• Former: No longer licensed to practice optometry in AB.
• Current: Licensed to practice optometry in AB.

Registration Class

• Regulated: A registered optometrist who is educated and trained to examine, assess, measure, diagnose, treat, manage and correct diseases and disorders of the human visual system, the eye and its associated structures.
• Extern: An extern is defined as an unregulated student currently attending an optometry program. All students must work under the supervision of a Regulated Member.
• Intern: An intern is defined as an unregulated graduate of an optometry program. All interns must work under the supervision of a Regulated Member.

Conditions

If there are any conditions on a registrant’s practice, they will be listed here. E.g., Supervised practice.

Disciplinary Action

If there is any disciplinary action it will be listed here for 10 years.
